Description
A rickhouse is defined as the storage space for whiskey barrels during the aging process. Heat rises, therefore, temperatures are warmer and drier in the upper levels of the space and the barrel ages faster and produces a higher proof spirit. Closer to the ground floor, it tends to be cooler and more moist- the barrels age slower and at a lower proof.
Located in the heart of the Financial District of San Francisco, Rickhouse™, has become a staple for cocktail and whiskey knowledge and craft for the past 10 years. Its design is inspired and built from old whiskey barrels, staves and original charred brick from pre-1906 earthquake. This beautiful, warm bar is dimly lit, with a good amount of seating and a fun, convivial atmosphere. We specialize in whiskeys from around the world, but have a wide and unique selection of all spirits. Our carefully thought out cocktail menu contains fresh, local produce and we have a rotating local beer and wine selection, focusing on the Bay Area and California.
