The cottages derive their names from African history and identity. The old farm house built at the early development of the farm is called Tannie Grita as a special tribute to 83 years of her life on the farm. Tannie being a Bodenstein and a direct descendant of the original Malans was the person from whom we acquired the farm.

The new cottages on the other hand are named after our collective clan names of Bakoena, Makhoakhoa, Mapulana, Bataung and Maziya. These clans are at the heart of who we are, an afrocentric fusion of our Bantu heritage and the celebration of the beauty that Africa is.
