Born out of a passion for expressing the Mediterranean way of life in a fresh, modern context Mezepoli has over the past 12 years become well-loved for its consistently outstanding quality of food, relaxed yet sophisticated space and exceptional service. The beautifully designed space and central location at Melrose Arch, one of the city’s most prestigious shopping and leisure centres, makes Mezepoli a favourite for all occasions, from business lunches to celebratory dinners. 

Created by the late Angelo Haitas and Margarita Tsangaris-Scherf, founders of Plaka restaurants, Mezepoli continues to be one of Jozi’s best-run eateries. Important to our customer experience are our staff members, many of whom have been part of the team since the early Plaka years and who have climbed the ranks and developed into leadership roles.
