Food  

From the moment we made our reservation, to the moment we first met our server, Ntando, Tang was clear about its desire to serve a glittering night in the city. Spotting celebrity fashion designers and the city’s upwardly mobile amongst its patrons confirmed Tang’s execution of its stylish and sophisticated vision.

The food, the true hero of Tang is imaginative and delicious, served simply. The dishes we tasted were full of flavour and cooked precisely. The menu lends itself towards various interpretations of the theme and captures the imagination.

The dishes are presented minimally, and don’t distract from the deliciousness of each individual ingredient, which gives the food the opportunity to be the hero.

Tang is specific in its desire to present Izakaya. However, the waitron did point out that for the Peking Duck, some of the vegetables are rotated seasonally.

Drinks 

There is a walk in cellar, and a large wraparound bar which both lend themselves to entertaining private groups.

Ambience

In the evening, this dark and moody space is transformed into enclaves of elegance.

The large cherry blossom trees and playful lighting lend a transformative air to Tang.

Unfortunately, in this dark space, a sign or two is required in the bathroom, to pre-empt the slip of a stiletto. The beverage list is extensive and gives itself graciously to the vast menu. At its best, Tang is memorable and provides an escape.
