There are a number of coffee shops on the East Rand as you may expect. Over the last number of years there has been a significant increase in the number of coffee shops opening up in the great East Rand area of Gauteng.
Notably there has been an increase in new coffee shops in Edenvale and Bedfordview, Johannesburg. There are some of the largest shopping malls in Africa located very near Edenvale and Bedfordview such as Eastgate shopping Mall and East Rand shopping mall. Whilst coffee shops have opened up in these malls to capture the high footfall in those centres some independent coffee shops have opened in or around residential areas and suburbs.
Edenvale has grown considerably over the last 20 years with new suburbs such as Dowerglen and its pricey extensions such as Dowerglen Extension 5. Areas such as the leafy suburb of Dunvegan have seen a lot of development of older properties in the area. Just a short drive down Dowerglen Avenue which runs parallel to Glendower Golf Course you will see a number of large rebuilds that look onto the lovely course. This increase in more affluent and discerning clientele has brought with it the need for a very good coffee shop in the Dunvegan and surrounding area Bedfordview.
